Welcome to Noted, our new dedicated space here on Substack. This channel is hosted by Shared Ground, a Dutch-based think tank working across multiple countries to drive and implement pragmatic solutions for nature protection, the environment, and climate resilience.
We observe growing polarization and increasing support for extreme solutions on both sides of a political spectrum—times when climate and nature are often another space for driving divisions rather than a joint effort to preserve what we value most, what we love, and what we care about. While we recognize that political polarization is part of today’s reality, we also strongly believe that taking care of our home should not belong to one political tradition, nor should it be reduced to a wedge issue in partisan struggles.
We built Shared Ground out of the belief that current solutions often fail to serve people and communities effectively, and do not always take their interests into account. We examine data, conduct research and analysis, propose and test solutions, and curate an ecosystem of like-minded institutions and leaders.
Our latest research shows something important: voters on the right care about protecting nature and the environment, but want solutions that resonate with their values of security, tradition, and stability—while remaining practical, affordable, and close to home. They want efforts that strengthen their communities and are built hand-in-hand with the people that live there.
The organisation works to design long-term, pragmatic solutions rooted in people’s real needs and values. Through advisory research, policy guidance, and communications tailored to these solutions, we equip leaders to engage constructively and advance solutions to nature and environmental protection.
This space here—Noted by Shared Ground—will bring insights from our work. Here, we will share research findings, our assessments on the current political landscape, and conversations with inspiring partners.
We offer this forum to bring you direct insights from our research, propose solutions reflecting people’s concerns and needs, share reflections and foster a debate on environmental policy rooted firmly in conservative principles and anchored on the right.

Natalia Węgrzyn is the Executive Director of Shared Ground and co-founder of the Our Common Home network, a coalition of organisations focused on enabling civic participation across society to develop solutions for our changing natural environment. An experienced strategist and policy expert, Natalia has a proven track record of building partnerships and bridging environmental and social divides.
Proudly Polish and deeply connected to her roots in Silesia—a historic coal-mining region—Natalia holds a Master’s degree in International Relations.
